Waffle Flower: Wild Flower Postage Collage

β€”

Hello crafty friends! I am back to share another card project from Waffle Flower. The postage collage collection from Waffle Flower is one of my favorites and this past release they added to the collection with the Wild Flower stencils. It’s the perfect spring addition!

I am obsessed with a color combination that I saw on Meghann Andrew Youtube’s recently – it consists of C9 Watermelon, Wildberry, Creamsicle, and Sea Glass. I have used this for a few cards recently and I thought it would be perfect for this as well. To get started I pulled out a piece of 4.25×5.5 inches Nina Classic Crest cardstock in Solar White 110lb and cut that using the Postage Collage Die. With the cardstock adhered to my grip mat, I lined up my first stencil. I wanted to have a monochromatic so for the most part I used the same color for each stencil. For the first layer I used Watermelon – this color is the perfect light pink. With the second layer, I used Wildberry to give a pop of color. And with the last stencil I masked off the two flower centers and used Sea Glass for the greenery. Sea glass is not a traditional greenery color, but I love how this color works with Watermelon and Wildberry. For the flower centers I used some lunar paste to allow for some texture. Fun fact, if you don’t have any tools to apply the paste – just use your fingers! It made it so easy to apply and it prevented the paste from getting everywhere (well except my hands).

While I let the paste dry, which really doesn’t take long, I started to build out my sentiment. Using the new Take Care die, I cut out 4 pieces in White 110lb cardstock and one more in Sea Glass. And for the shadow I cut one 1 piece in vellum. I glued the three white Take Care die cuts together and added the sea glass on top. I then glued that stack onto the vellum shadow. And for the last take care, I glued it to the back of the shadow layer. This helps to add additional dimension and it avoids you sometimes seeing glue behind the vellum piece.

To finish up the card I added some foam tape to the back of stenciled card base and adhered it to a piece of Buttercream cardstock from Simon Says Stamp. Buttercream is a slightly off white/create cardstock and it has the perfect contrast to white.

This wraps up my card, it was pretty simple to put together! Thank you for stopping by and hope this bring some inspiration and smiles your way 🫢🏻
