Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing a card using products from the latest Be Bold release from Simon Says Stamp.

When I saw the Nested Leaves Plate Die, I knew I wanted to inlay card stock and make something colorful. To get started, I pulled out the following colors of Concord and 9th card stock: Ballet Slipper, Dragonfruit, Watermelon, Creamsicle, Buttercup, Oceanside, Aqua Sky and Rainforest.
For my die cutting, I first cut the plate with Nina Classic Solar White 110lb card stock as I wanted to have a clean background and for this to be my base. From there it was very much rinse and repeat. I cut out the plate from Ballet Slipper and then took the first row of die cuts and inlayed them into my base. Next I did the same with Dragonfruit inlayed the row of die cuts….
I could have saved some card stock (and time) by strategically placing the colored card stock behind each row, but I decided to just do each color one by one just to make things simpler. Once all of the rows were filled in, my background was done!
On to the sentiment. For my sentiment I used the Happy wafer die. For dimension, I cut out the Happy four times in 110lb white cards tock and one more time in Matte gold. And the shadow was cut from vellum. I love the look of velum behind a colorful background.
I glued the three white Happy die cuts together and added the gold on top. I then glued that stack onto the vellum shadow. And for the last Happy, I glued it to the back of the shadow layer. This helps to add additional dimension and it avoids you sometimes seeing glue behind the vellum piece.
I needed to some sort of sub-sentiment to finish up the card. Using the Happy Combos set, I stamped the phrase “we’re friends” and die cut that out three times and glued that to the card. And lastly I added some bling to bring some shine.
Sometimes the simplest cards, can take the longest! Thank you for stopping by and hope this bring some inspiration and smiles your way π«Άπ»
